Also a few more options couldn’t hurt (the ability to change playback speed, loop time -infinite, reverse, palindrome-, an option to cycle through a folder of gif files) but overall its a good app as it stands. The option to have a background picture that frames the gif for example, or, better yet, the option to use gif files that have transparencies over your existing desktop wallpaper. I am docking 1 Star because I think there is room for improvement. My tech specs: 2.8 GHz i7 Processor, 16 GB DDR3 Memory, Intel Iris 1536MB Graphics Card. I haven’t yet tried it while using a second monitor, so I’m not sure how well that will work, but overall it seems to be running very nicely. There are three options for scaling the gif file, which are adequate but do leave room for improvement. The scalable option is nice, altho I wish that you could set the background (which frames the gif) to a picture, as of now you can only select colors, but really thats a minor nitpick. After reading some of the reviews I was worried the gifs would be sluggish or stuttery, but after trying several (with a few resource intensive apps running - Photoshop, VLC, Transmission, Chrome, & Steam) I was pleasantly surprised to learn that was not the case.
